14 Inch MacBook Air to Follow iPad 3 Release Date – Asian Market in Apple’s CrosshairsWith the new 2012 MacBook Air range earmarked for arrival almost immediately after the upcoming iPad 3 release date, new reports are suggesting that a 14 inch model will be introduced in response to huge demand in the Asian market.

According to newly published industry reports, Apple is looking to make extensive efforts to secure a lucrative share of the PC market in Asia, where it currently accounts for the highest number of tablet PC sales and also ranks number one in the Smartphone market with its iPhone range.

As such, in order to tap into what is said to be a deep ‘love’ for 14 inch notebook, Apple is said to be preparing the launch of a new 14 inch MacBook Air, which would mark the biggest display the range has every boasted.

If true, full production may already be well underway for an imminent launch following the arrival of the iPad 3.

Analysts across the industry have stated in no uncertain terms that such a move by Apple is a clear and well-planned response to the threat posed by the upcoming Windows 8 OS, which upon release is likely to see a world of next-generation Ultrabooks hit the market and severely compromise Apple’s sovereignty.

That being said, Apple’s latest Mac OS X Mountain Lion is also slated for imminent release, which is said to being more of the iOS experience to the world of notebooks and laptops than ever before – iOS device having attracted far greater interest in 2011 than the Mac and MacBook range for the very first time in the company’s history.

According to a string of new industry reports, Siri is to play a starring role when included in a new in-car system to be unveiled by Mercedes Benz at Switzerland’s International Motor Show. Of course, in-car Siri use is available to pretty much any driver currently in possession of the iPhone 4S and a standard car docking-station, but its inclusion in the new A-Class will mark the first time Siri has been focused on as a standard inclusion.

Upon downloading the Drive Kit Plus app, drivers will be able to control the display panel in the A-Class with voice commands alone, along with other popular features the likes of email, Facebook and Twitter.

An exact public release date has yet to be announced by Mercedes.

The Siri voice assistant feature has been pegged by many analysts as the key driving force behind the success of the iPhone 4S, which continues to attract quite enormous sales on a global basis even to this day. iPad 3 Rumors of Upgraded Camera Confirmed by Leaked Case Images

iPad 3 Rumors of Upgraded Camera Confirmed by Leaked Case ImagesLoyal Apple followers desperate for iPad 3 rumors and release-date whispers have of course been rather overloaded as of late to say the least, though when any suggestions and ‘insights’ come with images to back them up, this is when the attention and excitement really hits fever pitch.

Well, if the latest sources are to be believed and the apparent leaked images presented prove genuine, a larger camera lens hole in the case of the iPad 3 is all the confirmation we could ever need of significantly bumped up camera quality – most likely the 8 megapixels we had all come to expect, or perhaps even more still?

The same leaked images also seem to confirm that the iPad 3 will indeed appear as a slightly thicker tablet than its predecessor, though to exactly how big an extent remains to be seen. Of course, any size increase will likely be more than justified by way of possible 4G LTE connectivity, boosted battery life, Retina quality display panel and a new A6 or A5X processor.

In related news from a rather different side of the fence, RIM has finally made public the new PlayBook OS 2.0 operating system for the long-suffering PlayBook tablet, which offers users a number of new features than really should never have been absent in the first place – such as email and calendar support. Needless to say, the timing of the release is quite clearly to contend with the incredible attention the iPad 3 has already captured, but in the eyes of most industry experts and consumers alike, the phrase “Too little, too late” may be something of an understatement at this point in time to say the very least.

Samsung Galaxy Beam, HTC One X and Sony Xperia U Unveiled at MWC 2012

Samsung Galaxy Beam, HTC One X and Sony Xperia U Unveiled at MWC 2012As the 2102 Mobile World Congress got into full swing earlier this week, at least a dozen Smartphones were thrown into the mix by Sony, HTC, Samsung and other leading brands – all striving for the same lucrative spotlight. However, some examples stood out immediately as ‘ones to watch’ in the very future, with the following three earmarked for great things in no uncertain terms.

The HTC One X represents perhaps the most important move for LG Smartphones in recent years, directly going after the high-end market segment to compete alongside the very best in the business. The One X boats the quad-core Tegra 3 processor, full HD 4.7 inch screen with 1280 by 720 resolution and a stunning 8 megapixel camera. The camera itself is already turning heads, which can take pictures at a rate of one every 0.7 seconds.

Samsung entered the affray with the new Galaxy Beam, which is to be a unique one-off production by the South Korean giant. The Galaxy Beam allows users to project an image of up to 50 inches in size at 720p onto any wall or flat surface, which is of course an excellent toy for movies and photograph slideshows. Processing power comes courtesy of a dual-core 1GHz chip, while the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS may or may not be earmarked for an ICS overhaul – Samsung didn’t pass comment.

Last but by no means least comes the Sony Xperia U, which is to be aimed at an entry-level market segment with the kind of 2012 specs that would be expected for the mid to lower price ranges. The Xperia U’s 3.5 inch display is backed with a 1GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera sensor and ‘xLoud’ stereo sound system. Shipping with Android 2.3, the Xperia U will be afforded a valuable ICS facelift later this year.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Fills Galaxy S3 Void at 2012 MWC – The Future of Samsung Tablets?

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Fills Galaxy S3 Void at 2012 MWC – The Future of Samsung Tablets? In the absence of a first glimpse at the Samsung Galaxy S3 or indeed anything remotely resembling a confirmed release date, all eyes at the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona have instead been focused on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 – the new tablet and bigger brother to the standard Galaxy Note.

The Note 10.1 packs Android 4.0 right out of the box with the usual TouchWiz interface running on top and has been afforded a number of software optimizations to really make the most of the user experience.

That being said, it is of course hardware that matters above all else in the eyes of most and the new Note 10.1 certainly appeared to pack a punch, offering up a dual-core Exynos processor at 1.4GHz, excellent screen resolution of 1280 by 800 and a modest 3 megapixel camera on the rear of the device. Storage reaches as high as 64GB with the use of the microSD card slot.

However, one inexplicable absence immediately raising a few eyebrows with the new Note is than of the pen/stylus storage slot – or lack thereof. As such, while the original 5 inch Note allows for easy storage of the included pen, those buying the larger 10 inch version will have to fork out for an extra case with a pen slot – why??

All in all therefore the new Note 10.1 is a respectable tablet and seems to exist as something of a missing-link between the rest of the Galaxy Tab range and the smaller 5 inch Note, though whether or not this is a gap that really needed filling remains to be seen.

Much of the Note 10.1’s receptions will of course come down to its price, which has yet to be revealed by Samsung.

Sprint to Invest $2 Billion in 4G LTE Expansion Ahead of iPhone 5 Release Date

Sprint to Invest $2 Billion in 4G LTE Expansion Ahead of iPhone 5 Release Date Rumor has that the upcoming iPhone 5 release date set to take place later this summer or early fall at the latest is the key catalyst behind a $2 billion investment by Sprint in furthering the networks 4G LTE expansion.

According to the latest reports emerging from a number of industry sources, Sprint is to make ambitious efforts to catch up with the likes of AT&T and Verizon, which have already extensively expanded their own coverage for a new generation of 2012 Smartphones.

A lack of 4G LTE coverage has long been pegged as of the reasons why has long been the third entry in an all-but two horse race, which is a problem the network would have found intensifying over the course of the year with a myriad of high end LTE devices already scheduled for launch – including the fabled iPhone 5.

Needless to say, the benefits of jumping on the iPhone 5 bandwagon as early as possible require little to no explanation, with Spring having reported total iPhone sales for Q4 of 2011 of 1.8 million – of which no less than 40% were new customers.

The reverence of the iPhone 5 long ahead of its scheduled release date has surpassed that of any device to have come before, ensuring that all 4G LTE networks carrying the ‘game-changing’ Smartphone look set to reap a windfall of epic proportions.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Rumors – Release Date Details Expected Any Day

Samsung Galaxy S3 Rumors – Release Date Details Expected Any DayDespite having long been ruled out of the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona for quite some time now, Samsung Galaxy S3 rumors and potentially confirmed specs have once again hit the headlines, despite ongoing silence from its creators.

According to sources claiming extensive familiarly with Samsung, the Galaxy S3 looks set to up the ante in the war for all-things big and beautiful, with a stunning 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD screen leading the charge.

What’s more, processing power has been ‘confirmed’ by the sources as significantly boosted in the S3, which will feature the Samsung Exynos 1.5GHz quad-core processor, backed by 2GB of dedicated RAM.

Exactly how Samsung plans to or indeed has been able to go about fitting such components along with 4G LTE connectivity in the usual sleek and slender body remains to be seen, but some have already gone as far as to state that the S3 will be brought to life as the thinnest Smartphone the world has ever seen.

With regard to specific release dates, Samsung has been clear to point out on a number of occasions that the S3 would receive its own launch even following the 2012 MWC, suggesting an unveiling for mid-March. However, with the eyes of the entirely world likely to be focused on London for the Samsung-sponsored Olympic Games later this summer, this has been earmarked by all in the know as the most likely time of all to see the S3 make its public debut.

The 41 Megapixel Nokia PureView 808 – iPhone 5-Killer?

The 41 Megapixel Nokia PureView 808 – iPhone 5-Killer?Nokia has recently taken the idea of increased Smartphone camera firepower to the next level and several times beyond, destroying the 5 megapixels of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the 8 megapixels of the iPhone 4S with a 41 megapixel sensor.

The camera boasting this particular asset is the Nokia PureView 808, which upon initial demonstration appears to be capable of shooting far superior pictures to any other Smartphone the world has ever seen and indeed a huge range of standard digital cameras. Large prints up to full poster size courtesy of the 808 were bright, bold and strikingly vivid.

However, never able to let the slightest technicality slip by, some are already all too keen to point out that the device itself does not in any way, shape or form truly shoot 41 megapixel images, but instead uses an array of incredible technological components to bump up picture quality to extraordinary levels – 41 megapixel images would be simply too large by way of file size.

Flexibility is huge and offers a world of manual and automatic settings for amateurs and pros alike, which in the opinion of some reviewers has led to the 808 existing as a high-end camera with a phone attached, rather than the other way round as is usually the case.

Surprisingly however the 808 is a Symbian Smartphone, which is rather disappointing given the way the future of Nokia appears to be pegged with Windows Phone in no uncertain terms.

Nevertheless, its mediocre OS will of course in no way detract from the bragging right the camera offers and with a price tag of around $600 without tax or subsidies, the 808 could be a success story in the making.

iPad Rumors – Full Pricing Details Confirmed by Leak

iPad Rumors – Full Pricing Details Confirmed by LeakAs iPad 3 rumors and release date suggestion continue to gather momentum by the day, a new leak appears to have confirmed that all of the incredible new goodies courtesy of Apple will not be coming without their additional price tag.

Should a recent online report from a usually credible source be believed, a pricing sheet has found its way onto the web and depicts the full pricing details of the upcoming iPad 3 range.

If true, expect to pay either $70 or $80 more for the iPad than its second-generation predecessors last year.

An increase in pricing for the iPad 3 may also result in the iPad 2 being kept at the exact same price it currently retails for, dispelling the optimistic rumors of massive price reductions to clear remaining inventory.

Those looking to invest in the iPad 3 will be forced to hand over $579, $679 or $779 for the standard 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models respectively, while 4G versions of the same storage options will retail for $699, $799 and $899.

Of course, the usual pinch of salt must be taken in no uncertain terms as not only does Apple have a history of introducing price drops to help shift remaining stocks of previous generation models, but the fact that devices the likes of the $199 Amazon Kindle Fire are still capturing the world’s imagination could make a bumped-up price tag a significant move in the wrong direction.

What’s more, the highest-end iPad 3 would in theory retail for only $100 less than the cheapest MacBook Air, which although may not appear to be a big deal on the surface may indeed cause controversy if or when the two ranges overlap by way of price.
