None of us can be truly sure as to whether the iPhone 5 release date later this year will signal Apple’s first foray into the world of 4G LTE Smartphones, though according to the Wall Street Journal at least, it would be pretty safe to hedge our bets that way.
In fact, the publication has stated that the iPad 3 will itself be able to make use of the blisteringly fast 4G networks of AT&T and Verizon, when it makes its first public appearance as early as next month.
According to industry sources, Sprint will be left somewhat lagging behind when the iPad 3 launch comes about in March, as the new LTE model will not be supported. However, the iPad 3 will be ready and waiting to go across the networks of AT&T and Verizon, which will of course add further appeal to what would in any case be one of the most important and celebrate products launches of the year.
Needless to say, 4G LTE connectivity will also bring the iPad range right in line with some of the leading Android tablet already offering compatibility.
LTE connectivity for the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 is a rumor that has been thrown around a great deal over the past 12 months, but with an ‘official’ unveiling date of March 7th having been penciled in by the world’s tech-community, the pieces of the puzzle really appear to be taking shape at long last.
